Pioneer RF and microwave semiconductor manufacturer founded in 1965 in Santa Clara, CA. Manufactured MMIC amplifiers, GaAs transistors, cascade amplifiers, attenuators, frequency dividers, and microwave integrated circuits. Key product lines include AT-series GaAs transistors, MSA-series MMIC amplifiers, GPD/GPM-series cable TV and CATV amplifiers, IAM-series mixer ICs, and INA/IFD-series RF components. Acquired by Hewlett-Packard in 1999; products and intellectual property subsequently transferred to Agilent Technologies and then to Avago Technologies (now Broadcom). Avantek parts remain widely sought for maintenance and legacy system support.
