Baltek Corporation ("Balsa Technology") was a pioneer and world-leading manufacturer of end-grain balsa core materials for sandwich composite structures, founded in 1940 and headquartered in Northvale, New Jersey. Products include end-grain balsa wood core panels and blocks, contourable balsa cores (ContourKore), linear and cross-linked PVC foam core materials, and non-woven polyester mat reinforcement. Applications include wind turbine blades (spar and root sections), marine boat hulls and decks, aerospace and defense structures, transportation composites, bridge decks, and architectural panels. Supplied balsa cores for British Mosquito WWII aircraft and US Navy DDG-1000 Zumwalt destroyers.
