Manufactures gravity-fed stainless steel water filtration systems and ceramic filter candles using diatomaceous earth (kieselgur) technology dating to 1891. Products include the Ultra Sterasyl ceramic filter element (removes 99.99% bacteria, Cryptosporidium, Giardia; reduces lead, chlorine, microplastics, PFAS, pharmaceuticals, herbicides, pesticides) and Ultra Fluoride element for fluoride reduction. Gravity filter systems range from 1L portable to 12L household countertop units — no electricity or plumbing required. Certified to NSF/ANSI 42, 53, 372, and 401. Distributed in the US by New Millennium Concepts Ltd (Arlington, TX) from 1998 to 2019; the Berkey brand was derived from Berkefeld during that partnership. Made in Britain.
