BRS Aerospace (Ballistic Recovery Systems, Inc.) is the manufacturer of whole-aircraft emergency parachute recovery systems, founded in 1980 by Boris Popov in South Saint Paul, Minnesota, now headquartered in Pinebluff, North Carolina. Products include ballistic parachute systems for light aircraft, ultralights, gliders, and experimental aircraft. Developed the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) in collaboration with Cirrus Aircraft — now standard on all 9,000+ Cirrus SR series aircraft. Also offers systems for Cessna 172/182, Kitfox, and other aircraft types. Over 400 lives saved through BRS deployments. Serves private aviation, flight training, and aerospace markets.
