Historical manufacturer of CO2 fire suppression systems. Chemetron-Cardox was the fire protection division of Chemetron Corporation, headquartered in Chicago, IL. Produced Cardox brand high-pressure and low-pressure CO2 total flooding and local application fire suppression systems for industrial, marine, and commercial applications. Product lines included CO2 cylinders, master valves, pressure-operated selector valves, discharge nozzles, discharge hoses, and pressure switches. Chemetron Corporation divested its fire protection business in the early 1980s; the Cardox CO2 system designs and parts have since been maintained by successor companies. Cardox CO2 suppression systems remain widely installed in legacy industrial and marine applications.
